With attendance growing every year since 2007, we’re expecting 2011 to be a banner year for the Salem Literary Festival. We’re excited to be again featuring a national writing contest to be judged by top authors, author hosted signings and workshops, poetry readings, and fun, educational events for the entire family.
We are asking for your assistance in underwriting events for the 2011 festival. Your help ensures that Salem continues its growth as a city known for community and excellence in literacy and education. There are several levels of underwriting, listed below, but all assistance is welcome.
Giving Levels
$2500 – Literary Legends
Literary Legends will help with very special author appearance(s), the Literary Festival kickoff reception, as well as honorariums for workshop facilitators and speakers.

$1500 – Patrons of the Pen
Patrons of the Pen donations will assist with the national writing contest (advertising & prize) and children’s educational programs.

$500 – Notables
Notables will support marketing materials such as postcards and signage, presentation equipment and supplies, as well as event receptions (refreshments, etc.)

In-Kind Donations
In-kind donations are also welcome. We are in need of:
- Printing services
- Website development services
- Hospitality for out-of-town authors
- Volunteers to help with events and promotion
We already have the support of so many institutions in the city of Salem: North Shore Art Throb, The Salem Athenaeum, Destination Salem, and Salem Main Streets, among others.
